Roadmap statuses should communicate confidence and intent, not create accidental promises. A small, well-defined vocabulary is easier for teams to maintain and customers to trust.
Planned
The problem is important enough to schedule, but timing and scope may still change. Describe the intended outcome and avoid false precision.
In progress
The team is actively building the solution. Explain what is being worked on without implying that every detail is final.
Shipped and declined
Shipped items belong in the changelog with a clear customer outcome. Declined items deserve a short explanation so customers understand that the request was considered.
Have a feedback workflow that feels harder than it should?
We are building ACME to help SaaS teams collect feedback, understand customer demand, plan roadmaps, and close the loop.
