A useful changelog post answers three questions quickly: what changed, why should a customer care, and what can they do now? The best updates are short, specific, and written around the customer outcome.
Lead with the customer outcome
Start with the problem the release solves instead of the internal project name. “Export reports in seconds” is more useful than a ticket number or a list of implementation details.
Show what is different
Use a concrete example, screenshot, or short sequence of steps. Explain who can use the change and whether anything needs to be enabled or configured.
Keep a reliable publishing rhythm
Publish when the change is ready for customers, not when the work is merely merged. A consistent archive helps customers understand how the product is evolving.
